23 things I learned at 23

I realize that my 23rd birthday was over a month ago, but I just watched Amy from Vagabond Youth's 24 things I learned at 24 video and felt inspired to create my own list.

Full disclosure this is going to be an extremely mushy post. Consider yourself warned.

1. Kindness is the most important thing (and it doesn't make you weak).

2. Don't live for others, live for you.

3. Putting yourself outside your comfort zone is a great way to learn more about who you are as a person.

4. Everything will happen in it's own time, don't force things. What will be will be.

5. Go with your gut.

6. Capture the moments, but also live in them.

7. The money will come.

8. Let yourself rest, and indulge in self love.

9. Don't be afraid to say no to plans you don't want to be a part of.

10. Travel near, far, anywhere.

11. Be open to change.

12. Chocolate and time heal all wounds.

13. Your family is already proud of how much you've accomplished.

14. Let go of what no longer serves you.

15. Wine actually tastes good dummy.

16. Never settle when it comes to choosing a partner.

17. Showing appreciation goes a long way.

18. Learning what you don't want is as valuable as learning what you do want.

19. Sex is sometimes just sex.

20. Your emotions are valid, but don't let them consume you. Don't dwell. Feel but then move forward.

21. Be open to love. Be open to letting people into your life.

22. You might be the sweetest peach, but not everyone likes peaches.

23. Don't be afraid to make spontaneous decisions.
