LONDON // MONDAY & TUESDAY

Monday evening my squad and I headed to Toronto Person Airport to board a plane to Europe. Our main travel desination was London, as well as Stonehenge, Bath, and Paris (of course). Here's we got up to during our first day of travel.

Take off was at 10 pm, and a 7 hour flight later we landed at the Gatwick Airport outside of London. It was a hell of a flight, and we didn't nearly get enough sleep - but we got our ducks in a row and headed to our hotel to freshen up.

A hop, skip, and a jump (actually a train ride) away we got to our beautiful hotel; Urban Villa. I'm was so impressed with this place because of it's wonderful customer service and amenities, but also because it was such an affordable deal. The three of us comfortably fit in a room with two beds (1 queen to share, and a sofa bed). The villa was not only beautiful to look at, had tea on hand 24/7, but it was also friendly and clean! Absolutely blown away by this place, and would surely visit again!

After a quick refresh, and grabbing some groceries; we headed for the bus to go to downtown London!!

First up Piccadilly Circus - the Times Square equivalent of London. What I love most about the city is the beautiful stone architecture that remains (at least in this side of town). There's no overbearing glass and metal skyscrapers. It's just historical stone buildings with so much character and charm. Downtown had an energy to it that surely lit me up.

We then walked to Trafalgar Square, roamed around there taking pictures and being total tourists.

Then we took a peak in the National Gallery, which was huge and full of amazing artwork. I'm always so enamored seeing paintings I studied back in high school art history. I even got to see Van Gogh's Sunflowers painting, which is one of my all time favourites.

With time to spare before having to retreat to our hotel, we walked to Buckingham Palace. We strolled through St. Jame's Park, and Green Park as well. I find it so interesting that the fall colours aren't present in London yet (or at all?).

For dinner we tried Burger & Lobster, and it was so freaking good. For picking a random restaurant based on some online reviews, it was honestly spectacular. The burgers (and not to mention EVERYTHING) was so well cooked and presented. Would definitely go back (however for the trip we wanted to try something new every day), so if you're ever in the area for sure stop here for a (huge and delicious) bite to eat.

After dinner we rolled ourselves back to our hotel. We simply lounged around the hotel and prepared for our next day trip (Stonehenge & Bath). We were so exhausted from the flight and the day full of adventure, but I was definitely excited to wake up early and explore more!
