After checking out the Willson Carbide Ruins, Adam and I kicked off our 8 km long hike. A quick drive from the ruins there's the Wolf Trail 62.
Distance: 8.3 km
Level of difficulty: Difficult
Elevation: 218 m
Time: 3 hours
The trail begins at Blanchet Beach off of Meech Lake and takes you up the parks steep hills. Adam and I looked forward to the two lookouts on this trail Tawadina and Mahingan. I'm not going to sugar coat it folks, this trail was fun but it was in fact quite the climb. With great views in mind we (mostly me Adam's a trooper) pushed through and it was totally worth it once we reached the top!
This is Tawadina...
At this look out we took a breather and had a quick bite to eat while we took in the view.
To my surprise after this look out the trail still continued to go up. We also found some really beautiful spots on top of the hill where the fall colours were showing full force. Fall is my absolute favourite season because of the cool fresh air and the truly beautiful leaves.
This is Mahingan...
We could only imagine how beautiful a sunset would have looked form up here.
Next up Pink Lake, we're coming back for you!
Til next time Gatineau Park, it's been a pleasure.
