EXPLORE: LAC MEECH // GATINEAU PARK

My best friend Erin and I love hitting up a good beach whenever we get together on a hot summers day. We went on quite the adventure before settling on Plage O'Brien, Lac Meech in Gatineau Park and we even lived to tell the tale...

If you remember back in the winter I explored Wallingford-Back Mine with Adam. Today I asked Erin if we could venture back to the mine to it check out for some swimming action. After getting within kilometers from the mine we accidentally took a wrong turn, walked around aimlessly for 15 minutes before heading back to ask locals for directions. Once we finally got our bearings we unfortunately discovered that the mine has been closed to public. We were definitely disappointed that all our efforts were for nothing- but we jumped back in the car and headed to Gatineau Park.

At this point we were sweating our buts off and were dying to get in some cool water. So once we finally got to the beach at Lac Meech we ran straight in!

The beach at Lac Meech was quaint and quiet with a stunning view. I would definitely recommend checking out this spot if you're ever exploring Gatineau Park on a hot day. The water was clear and cool as well which we really enjoyed. I can't wait to come back and check out Lac Pink before the summer ends (fingers crossed).

After a beautiful day at the beach we headed back home. Here are some snapshots as we drove through traffic downtown.
